At a meeting initiated by the Ministers Delegate Sébastien Martin and Nicolas Forissier on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in Bercy, the securing of supplies of rare earths and permanent magnets was discussed in detail.

• Providing solutions, using primary and secondary raw materials, processed or unprocessed, requires that downstream industry players seize these opportunities.. In their own interest, that of medium- to long-term resilience.
• No strategy will succeed without strong involvement from industry.This is happening within a context of increasing international tension.

A3M, numerous federations, and industry representatives attended this event. Following a presentation by OFREMI and Benjamin Gallezot – DIAMMS – and representatives of the State, 4 of A3M's members dedicated to the rare earth permanent magnet sector (Carester, MagReesource, Orano and Solvay) as well as LCM presented their projects.

France, and in particular the Directorate General for Enterprises (DGE), has been fully active on this issue for many years. A3M, representing the interests of the mining and metallurgy sectors, has also been fully committed. Together, as well as with OFREMI, the Directorate General for Spatial Planning, Housing and Nature (DGALN), and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), we are raising awareness and seeking concrete solutions to mitigate risks in the French industrial value chain. We have worked on the regulatory framework (CRM Act, REsourceEU, etc.), funding (critical metals calls for proposals, C3IV, INFRAVIA fund, etc.), and on very real industrial projects.
