A3M thanks the MP Raphael Schellenberger for listening during his hearings prior to the drafting of his report "Producing in France with French energy: From electrical advantage to industrial advantage".

🛜 A3M, as a representative of the players in the electric steel industry, ductile iron, non-ferrous metallurgy and metal recycling, had many messages to convey.

➡️ Our industrialists, the foundation of French industry, are largely energy intensive and in this context need decarbonized electricity, accessible in volume, flexibility and price accompanied by visibility.
➡️ Projects under development, sites subject to fierce international competition, also need electrons.
➡️ Decarbonizing our manufacturing processes implies more electricity consumption, provided that the economic equation is suitable.

✅ The report proposes 29 recommendations covering a wide range of topics. We note the positive reception given to the concerns we raised and the consideration given to several of our expectations. A3M remains available to the Member of Parliament and the government for the operational implementation of these recommendations so that the industries we represent can preserve their activities and develop new ones.

⚠️ A3M regrets that the vulnerability regarding the supply of metals needed for electrification remains a blind spot in the report and its recommendations: electrical security cannot therefore be considered without a strategy for securing metals, their transformation and their recycling, in value chains that are now largely controlled by China.
