Lithium from France, heat and geothermal lithium
The Lithium de France project, deployed in Alsace by Arverne, the leading French supplier of geothermal solutions, aims to accelerate the energy transition by providing heat to businesses, farmers and local authorities, and by producing geothermal lithium for battery manufacturing.
This project is a direct response to the challenges of Decarbonization, sovereigntyand of reindustrializationby utilizing the resources of the Alsatian subsoil to serve a strategic, local and sustainable sector.
A territorial project
At the heart of the Lithium de France project, deep geothermal energy makes it possible to to produce renewable and local heat, intended for businesses, agricultural activities and local authorities in Alsace. This underground energy makes a sustainable contribution to the Decarbonizationby reducing reliance on fossil fuels and strengthening theenergy self-sufficiency of the territoryRooted locally, the project is part of a long-term dynamics, creating value for economic players, communities and residents, while supporting the development of sustainable energy infrastructure adapted to the specific characteristics of the Alsatian territory.
Geothermal lithium, a strategic resource from the Alsatian subsoil
The Lithium de France project leverages the natural presence of lithium in the deep geothermal waters of the Rhine Graben. This resource in the Alsatian subsoil makes it possible to envision geothermal lithium production in conjunction with deep geothermal projects, within an integrated approach that respects the local environment. Through its local roots and minimal infrastructure requirements, this initiative helps meet the growing demand for lithium while aligning with a sustainable and regional development trajectory.
