Activities
LME produces carbon steel by recycling scrap metal, transforms it into long products and markets and distributes them in France, Europe and major export markets.
Manufacturing processes
Steel is produced by recycling scrap metal (steel waste) in a steelworks using an electric furnace, at a rate of approximately 600000 tonnes per year and supplied locally ( 300 km on average around the factory).
The semi-finished products are then processed on the same site via 2 hot rolling lines.
