The EMILI project
Imerys has launched a lithium mining project at its Beauvoir site in Echassières (Allier). This EMILI project (Imerys Exploitation of Lithium Mica) responds to a dual challenge of energy transition and economic sovereignty.
It will contribute to the creation of an integrated European battery sector for electric vehicles by offering a local solution for one of the most critical materials, lithium. It will be one of the largest lithium extraction projects in the European Union, offering a long-term solution that echoes Europe's decarbonisation ambitions.
