This 'CSF', led by A3M which provides the permanent delegation, and composed of an bureau representing the ferrous and non-ferrous metals industry as well as the forging and foundry players, focuses its work on:

- Procurement and Sovereignty
- Skills & Attractiveness
The 'CSF Mines et Metallurgie' is a platform for dialogue with the French Authorities.
It co-produces the French mining & metallurgy strategy (with DGE, DGALN, DGA, DGT, DGPR, MEAE, etc.).
Christel Bories – President of the group ERAMET – is its president.
As part of the missions carried out under the CSF Mines and Metallurgie, A3M participated intensively in work led by Philippe Varin at the end of 2021 which resulted in around ten recommendations including the creation of:

- The creation of industrial platforms in Dunkirk and Lacq respectively on vehicle batteries gigafactories and rare earth permanent magnets,
- The P. Varin report also promoted conditions conducive to thedevelopment of a CRM Act at European level.
